Although Senator John Edwards has not confirmed his candidacy for President of the United States of America in 2004, rumors state it as fact. Frankly, we here at the Greensboro, NC Democrats see him as our prime choice for President. Senator Edwards has clearly shown that he will fight to save schools, improve health care, protect privacy, preserve our environment, stand up for seniors, support our military, and strengthen criminal justice and the court system. Senator Edwards proposed the Airport and Seaport Terrorism Prevention Act on 9/14/2001 and the Spyware Control and Privacy Protection Act of 2000 on 10/6/2000. Senator Edwards also has cosponsored several important bills including one with Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) for the Patients Bill of Rights. In the 2000 election, John Edwards was considered by Albert Gore, Jr. as his running mate. About John Edwards John Edwards was born on June 10, 1953 (He's 48 now). His wife is Elizabeth and he has two daughters and he had two sons. His first son, Wade, died in 1996. Edwards was elected on November 3rd, 1998 and was sworn in on January 6, 1999.
